CIVILIAN JOURNAL: Anita Begay, PWP: Anita Begay - LIST FOR 17 NOVEMBER )

CIVILIAN JOURNAL: Susan Ballion
Apparently, wanting to be warm in the middle of November is considered thievery. To take a page from a friend some things I've seen, a quote -- for Rachael Carson is always a clever person to consult in issues such as this:
There is still very limited awareness of the nature of the threat. This is an era of specialists, each of whom sees his own problem and is unaware of or intolerant of the larger frame into which it fits. It is also an era dominated by industry, in which the right to make a dollar at whatever cost is seldom challenged. When the public protests, confronted with some obvious evidence of damaging results of pesticide applications, it is fed little tranquilizing pills of half truth. We urgently need an end to these false assurances, to the sugar coating of unpalatable facts. It is the public that is being asked to assume the risks that the insect controllers calculate. The public must decide whether it wishes to continue on the present road, and it can do so only when in full possession of the facts. In the words of Jean Rostand, “The obligation to endure gives us the right to know.”

038: Take a little advice from me, 'cause I read the warnings every day. [26th Sep. 2008 • 20:03 ]

Making this brief, since training for this nonsense by the government means that I’m clearly given more than enough time to give appropriate commentary on current events and thus warn everyone in a timely manner:

For those of you who haven’t been hired yet by the Track and Field Committee and are under express intent of working for the mission, making haste to Alias Development would be a very wise and prudent decision on your part. Trust me, based on recent news heard from the primary source himself: they’re heightening the criteria of background checks for all incoming employees considerably – and really, if one is to be frank, that’s the grossest understatement I’ve ever said. Not to bog down the AD office, especially considering the fact that they’ll be under great duress for the duration of this project, but it wouldn’t necessarily be a bad idea for current employees to brush up their documentation, either. Believe me when I say this has to be iron clad.

In a similar vein of interest, if anyone who is in or is currently thinking of applying for Security for the games could get a hold of me, I’d very much like to discuss tactics before the Revolution-wide briefing at the beginning of the week next week. Courtesy of the House of Orange, we’re going to have to present one hell of a plan for the rest of the group to follow.

PWP: Intelligence, Hackers
This is tentative enough that I don’t feel comfortable in mentioning this to the Revolution proper, but I managed to pick out a series of memos from the National Sports and Recreation Committee that would lead me to believe that not only are the Rhodes to be in attendance at the World Track and Field Championships, but are to be guests of honor due to the “great tragedy the family sustained during the spring.” Regardless of whether the findings are but the idea of some well-intentioned intern or a clever PR firm, it’s something I think we need to take seriously – if not as an organization, then certainly as a department. (Or departments, I should say.)

It’s too early to state a definite plan of attack, but in terms of an Intelligence agenda, I think that infiltration of the work forces (both construction and service professionals) would be a key strategic decision to make as soon as possible. Regardless of whether Ami will be in attendance or not, the potential information we could obtain about top level Shusai corporate officials and their relations with the international community would be invaluable in of itself. Furthermore, foreign contacts may prove useful, but perhaps I’m speaking with more ambition than I should considering my position. At any rate, I haven’t many suggestions for the Hackers, but (and you’ll have to forgive me the awful cliché) I certainly think that you could find an iceberg’s worth of knowledge where I’ve only scratched the tip.

At any rate, this is certainly very early information, so I’d appreciate it if all of you would open the enclosed attachment and go over the information. Rather another set of eyes to say that I’m foolish than to go in with no counsel and regret the ensuing chaos.

LIST FOR WEEK OF 17 AUGUST )

CIVILIAN JOURNAL: Ana Lynch )

Went to Vinyl? for the first time since I got back (hijab, it should be noted, is not a good idea for an unescorted disguise; ditched that one as soon as I left the place). A bit weird seeing some of the new faces after being AWOL for a month and a half, but Zig was same-old same-old and the fill-ins look like good people. There was one girl that made a point to help me post up the Table of Contents opening night flyers all over the store who was especially cheerful and helpful about everything -- it's good to know that Zig's in good hands. Until then, though, look like it's back to busking for me. Joy of joys, as (and I'm sure this will be a shock to you all) no one seems to really like to be going out much in this weather.

Seems we've a new face in our midst. Haven't seen you about yet, but a welcome to Duet all the same.

Anyway, won't be too easy to get a hold of on journals for a bit or so, but if you lot really need me, just send me an e-mail and it'll get answered. Call works decent too; if I don't answer, I'll get back to you in a reasonable amount of time. Just wanted you to know.

027: PWP: Intelligence, Department Heads, DJ Ei [3rd Jul. 2008 • 05:43 ]
[Tags|, ]

As of the time stamp of this post, Honky Tonk has effectively resigned from the Revolution at large. I trust that she has cleared this with DJ Ei prior to her exit, and therefore understands the obligations of secrecy that she must uphold and the consequences that will undoubtedly be incurred should said secrecy be violated.

Due to the fact that the individual who would have inherited my post as second-in-command is currently as incapacitated as I, the role of Interim Head is entrusted with Roll; however, as I have yet to give her the training as befitting such a command, I would heavily request that the Department Heads at large intercede upon her behalf until we have a satisfactory replacement. Roll has conducted herself as a responsible member of the unit and, as such, is the ideal candidate from those still available in the department. If anyone could teach her the ropes (e.g.: filters to DJ Ei, DH protocol), I would greatly appreciate this; it is unfortunate that I cannot do this myself in my absence, save that this is a surp well, anyway.

If either Intelligence or the Department Heads would wish to hold a video conference on the matter, I believe I will be available save for a seven-hour span of time starting at 1300 GMT, which is (apparently) when we are to arrive in harbor and will be in transit to the capital. Otherwise, I will be available, as there is no way I am sleeping after this.

025: PWP: Department Heads [22nd Jun. 2008 • 22:51 ]
[Tags|, ]

Current intelligence prompts me to say that I must insist upon a meeting tomorrow evening at 2100 sharp. I would ask for it to be earlier, but I have prior obligations that will keep me in the outskirts of the City until this time. I apologize for the short notice, but it is most urgent, and I hope that roughly 24 hours will be enough to give you time in which to make it to this meeting as soon as possible. Furthermore, I also apologize for the cryptic nature of my message, but the contents of this are such that I do not trust this news on digital channels, even given our beta system. Ultimately, discretion is the better part in this situation, and I have good faith that once you hear this, you will agree.

As an aside: Funk, I believe that you may have to switch your watch of Nerdcore to more than just one individual until we are able to best assess this issue at large.
